Woman accused of starting California fire said she was boiling bear urine to drink, court documents say

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – A lady accused of starting off the Fawn Fire in Northern California was hoping to boil ingesting h2o, according to a prison grievance from the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.

Alexandra Souverneva, 30, was arraigned in court Friday where she pleaded not guilty to a felony arson demand. Documents reveal when a Cal Fireplace official stopped Souverneva, he asked for she be evaluated for attainable dehydration. When questioned to empty her pockets, Cal Hearth observed she was carrying a lighter, the document suggests, and she admitted to smoking earlier that day.

She told the Cal Hearth formal she was on a hike to Canada and had stopped to boil h2o she considered contained bear urine.

“She said the drinking water contained bear urine and tried out to filter the drinking water with a tea bag. She stated that did not function so she tried to make a fireplace to boil the h2o. She said it was way too soaked for the fire to commence,” in accordance to the courtroom document.

She drank the water anyway and continued going for walks uphill, according to the court document.
