Due to high winds and shifting sand on the North Carolina outer banks, a strange castle has just emerged from beneath the dunes.
The structure recently appeared at Jockey’s Ridge State Park (home to the tallest living sand dune system on the Atlantic coast) in Nags Head and has since gone viral.
Photographer Wes Snyder’s images have been shared the most with over 2,000 likes and 200+ shares on this post alone;
The structure recently appeared from see from an old 3.11 acre mini golf course that operated in the early 80s before being bought out by the state and left to be swallowed up by the dunes.
