— Dak Prescott threw three of his four touchdown passes in the third quarter, and the Cowboys scored the first 23 points of the second half to hand the Panthers their first loss of the season in a 36-28 Dallas victory.

Playing without an injured Christian McCaffrey, Sam Darnold ran for two first half touchdowns to give Carolina (3-1) a 14-13 halftime lead. Darnold already has five rushing touchdowns this season.

Darnold also threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to D.J. Moore and finished 26-for-39 for 301 yards with two interceptions.

The Cowboys improved to 3-1 as Prescott finished 14-for-22 for 188 yards and four touchdowns.

Rookie Chuba Hubbard started at running back in McCaffrey’s absence and finished with 57 rushing yards on 13 carries.

Moore led Carolina’s receiving attack with eight catches for 113 yards and the two scores.

The Panthers return home next week against the Eagles. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. and airs on News 50.
