NC State Representative Dana Bumgardner dies after cancer bout

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina state Rep. Dana Bumgardner has died from most cancers.

North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore verified Bumgardner’s dying on Saturday.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my close friend and colleague, Rep. Dana Bumgardner next his battle with cancer,” Moore claimed in a statement. “Rep. Bumgardner, former insurance policies chair and present appropriations chair, served in the North Carolina Dwelling of Associates for eight years.”

The Gaston County Republican died at his house in Gastonia. He was in his fifth two-year phrase.

He is survived by his spouse Cindy, his little ones, Lauren and Austin, and his grandchildren Payton, Maggie, and Kate.
