COLUMBIA, S.C. Area Charlotte Information – A Mecklenburg County detention officer was fired Tuesday just after he was arrested and billed with an assault in South Carolina, in accordance to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities mentioned Detention Officer Branden Williamson was arrested and charged on felony assault costs stemming from an aggravated assault incident on Sept. 27 in Richland County, South Carolina.

Mecklenburg County Sheriff Gary McFadden mentioned he was embarrassed and infuriated when he was knowledgeable of the arrest.
“After talking with the arresting officer and listening to the situations, I was a lot more infuriated,” the sheriff claimed. “As a former murder detective, I have witnessed as well a lot of of these domestic disturbances. This will not be tolerated in this agency.”
The sheriff’s business claimed Williamson started performing with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office environment on June 5, 2019.
