LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – A girl has been charged with DUI soon after rear-ending a motorbike overnight, resulting in the operator’s death, according to South Carolina Freeway Patrol.
The deadly accident transpired just just before midnight, Sept. 30, on US HWY 521, troopers explained.
In accordance to Freeway Patrol, a woman, discovered as Vickie Morell of Fort Mill, struck a motorcycle with her car even though on the highway in Indian Land. Just after rear-ending the bike, Morell drove off the highway, strike a tree, and overturned.
The driver of the motorcycle was discovered dead at the scene, troopers said.
Morell has been taken into custody and billed with DUI.
HWY 521 southbound continues to be closed in between HWY 160 and Marvin Street Friday morning as SC Freeway Patrol investigates the overnight fatality. The location will remain shut until eventually around 9 a.m. Friday.
